Harp, 35, first came to national attention as a cancer survivor and enthusiastic Trump supporter who spoke at the 2020 Republican national convention in Washington. She joined the far-right One America News Network in 2020 and went to work for Trump two years later as he plotted his political resurrection.

She has frequently been at his side ever since. The CNN network reported that in 2023, when Trump was due to appear in court in New York, Harp discovered there was no seat for her in his motorcade so she jumped into the trunk of an SUV, insisting that he had personally asked her to attend.

"It's been amazing to watch this White House melt down over this all week," Ossoff said. "And about Natalie Harp, these White House staffers are adults, public officials paid by the taxpayers with immense power in positions of public trust."

She signed a letter to Trump: “With all my heart, Natalie.” In a letter to Trump reviewed by The New York Times, Harp apologized to the president if she embarrassed him while walking the course with him in Scotland.

“I want things to always be right between us,” Harp wrote. “I also know I’ve been distracted all week (forgetting to eat throughout the days, and even forgetting to sleep, and only catching a couple hours at a time).”
